Mathematical Analysis of Color Combination and Color Composition of Images

چکیده
Pleasing color harmonies appeals to our sense of beauty. Our study is an attempt to explore such aesthetic aspect of color by scientific approach using mathematics and computer. Digital images of fine art, especially images of paintings, are significant resources for computational analysis of color aesthetics. We have developed a software system, specially designed for multilateral color analysis of images, to perform quantitative evaluation of color features of paintings on the following three aspects: 1) analysis of color combination in a 3-dimensional color space [1, 2], 2) analysis of color composition on a 2-dimensional picture plane [3], 3) analysis of color contrast of juxtaposed colors [4].
